In Pink & Stripes

In Pink & Stripes
Zara Pink Blazer (not a blazer but would also work and I’m in love with it) // J. Crew Embellished Striped Top // Blanc Denim Vegan Leather Pants // J. Crew Everly Shoes // Michael Kors Selma Tote (smaller version here) // Prada Sunglasses // Michael Kors Watch // J. Crew Bracelet

Some of you might remember this outfit suggestion from a moodboard I did to MadeByGirl’s blog as a contributor (which by the way I’ll continue to be for the next 6 months, yay!). If you didn’t see it check it here and below is also part of it.

Shearling + Houndstooth

Shearling + Houndstooth
I tend to wear skirts & dresses so much less frequently during the winter months - it's a combination of my overall disdain for tights and the fact that I have a very low tolerance for the cold.  But, in an effort to get the most out of my closet as we near the end of the season, I've decided to work these pieces back into my regular rotation.  When paired with a moto vest and low-heeled booties, this flippy houndstooth skirt is a fun departure from my usual daytime looks.
Happy Weekend to my all lovers.

Perspicientia - Kalipo

Perspicientia - Kalipo
 Hey everyone,
I hope this post finds you all well.
School, uni and work have already started for most of you and also I will start uni again tomorrow.
After my stay in Coburg with my family I went down to Munich for a few days and flew to London where I am now. But before school picks up speed again I noticed that I hadn't posted this very dark but simple look yet. So then I'll throw it back to Coburg again. In such a small and konservative place even an outfit like this is more than enough. A hat is already a reason for people to turn their heads!

Tomorrow I'll be showing you a small summary of my vacation and maybe a few random facts and other things. The title of my outfit is a song I really enjoy right now. I like listening to it while working. It also reminds me of the nature at home as we live quite close to the forest.
Have a lovely Monday evening everyone :) x

Fuchsia Pleats

Fuchsia Pleats
 Good morning, birdies!
The weekend is here, probably faster than ever before, but I won’t complain.
Spring is getting closer by the minute and I couldn’t be more excited.
Dresses, light fabrics, bright colors, wonderful flowers...talk about the color poetry
made with the scenery. I can’t wait! As you can see, I am already preparing for Spring. This bright fuchsia skirt brightened up the gloomy day I had yesterday.
How could it not?! This shade of pink screams joy and positive thoughts.
Have a wonderful day, guys!

The finishing touch

The finishing touch
I love good old classics, those that never date and always make me look polished and stylish.  Black jeans and grey sweaters are staples in my closet and I am never tired to wear them in countless outfits and combinations.  There is always a way to elevate them by playing with fancy accessories.  Like this printed scarf which is the cherry of the pie today.  I wish you a wonderful Wednesday and thank you so much for stopping by.

Recreating The GUESS Campaign

 Recreating The GUESS Campaign
Hello everyone,

I love adventures and creative challenges, so when GUESS approached me and asked to recreate their famous All-American Nashville Campaign I instantly got excited.
With this look I wanted to recreate that sexy iconic look of the All-American girl. I paired an edgy panel skirt with a silk polka dot corset and topped it off with a cropped leather jacket to toughen up the look. I had so much fun running around downtown LA shooting at sunrise. Since I got an office loft downtown, I really noticed how my style has been changing and evolving. I feel rather inspired by the beautiful people in the fashion district running around with coffee and binders to Fashion Showrooms. GUESS in my opinion has always had those sexy key pieces that look good on the body and give you a power woman confidence. What are some of your favorite pieces from the GUESS Nashville Collection?

It is 5.30 am and I am sitting at the airport, sipping tasty americano coffee and waiting for my flight to one of the smallest Canary islands – beautiful La Palma.  Today will be a hard working day, having in mind that I just have slept less than five hours.  But from tomorrow on I will enjoy rewarding and calm weekend exploring this lovely green island.

Flurry

Flurry
In the past, I've found some beautiful statement-y pieces from Express, like this feather skirt and this navy blue peacoat, both which remain in constant closet rotation. However, it's their staple and basic items that I'm always reaching for. For example, this black v-neck sweater is probably worn at least 2x a week (sold out, but here's a similar one) and same goes for the this white one that I'm wearing today. Paired it with their super flattering, high-waisted jeans, which hug the body, in the best possible way. I highly recommend in filling your closet with some key essentials or as I like to call, the building blocks to any wardrobe.

Wanted to mention two more things!

1. I know it might seem crazy that I'm wearing these boots in the snow, but with a few sprays of this suede protector, they remain totally safe, as long as I'm not jumping in big slush puddles.

Perfect Eye Makeup

Perfect Eye Makeup
roper countering is perhaps the most important thing when you apply makeup on your face. The main reason for using makeup on your face is that you want to hide the features that you do not like so much and underline the ones that are your favourite. Using makeup and the proper contouring is important when you are going to pose for photos, because the camera is much more sophisticated then the normal human eye and it can capture all the shadows and highlights.

There are special powders for proper countering and highlighting and you can try to use them, but there is also the variant to use such powder that is darker than your skin with a few shades, and a foundation that is lighter than you skin. There are certain areas that you need to define with darker shades – your neck, under your cheek bones, and other parts of your face like the zone under your eyes and the t-zone is where you should highlight.
Well, unfortunately we are not all blessed with big and juicy lips that we like so much to see on a woman’s face, but there are a few tricks that can help you create this illusion. The simplest one is to use a lip pencil and apply a line outside your normal lip line. That means just to go slightly off your normal lip line so that you create the effect; otherwise all you could achieve is to look like a clown.
If you are using eyeliner as part of your makeup vision, perhaps you also check from time to time if it is still there. Some eyeliners are not so stable and tend to vanish after some time, may be because they are not like waterproof makeup. But waterproof makeup is really hard to be taken off, the process of removing, for example the lashes, can be even painful. That is why I prefer not to use waterproof makeup but have some tricks for saving the makeup on my face. Such a trick is to put pressed powder under your eye liner on your bottom lid. With this you create some kind of a barrier so that your eyeliner does not go downward.

Turtlenecks + Banana Republic Petites

Turtlenecks + Banana Republic Petites
I have not worn or even owned a turtleneck in over 10 years. I wrote them off in high school after seeing one too many male friends pair them with chunky Steve Madden shoes (remember the black ones?). Times have changed since then and so have my feelings toward turtlenecks. Paired right, turtlenecks can be chic and not to mention super warm. Over the holidays I was happy to welcome this petite navy Banana Republic version to my closet. The fit, texture, weight, length, I fell in love the second I tried it on! The turtleneck is currently on sale with an extra 35% off in regular black and navy and petite cream.

Speaking of petites, I’ve been gravitating toward Banana Republic petites a lot lately. The hems, arm lengths, and shoulder width fit me so perfectly, it’s hard to resist. Over the weekend I tried on this blouse (p xxs) and this linen tee (p xs) and the fit on both were amazing! This boatneck sweater looked super luxe in person, but sadly, they didn’t have my size. With Marissa Webb running things now, I have a feeling I’ll be doing some major damage in their petite section this year. Can we talk about the Summer 2015 preview? So good!

Over the Moon.

Over the Moon.
I am currently loving the idea of bare legs, boots and cozy knits. We are having some random chilly days here in LA, but I am so not in the mood to wear jeans. Throwing on a cute dress, some over the knee boots- with warm socks- and a long cozy cardi was just the ticket!

This loose fitting dress goes great with a long cardi that hits just below the hem line of the dress. Mixing up lengths really adds to the look and gives it that chic boho vibe that I love. I haven’t always been fan of over the knee boots- but when I tried these on I fell in love. Not only do they add a little something to an outfit, they are also super comfy. They also help make your legs look longer- which is never a bad thing!

This outfit is super versatile. Throw it on for a trip to the farmers market or even for a coffee date! You can always dress it up with your accessories to add a little extra shine.

I recently wore this shaggy pink jacket in an Instagram post and got lots of questions about it. It seems to go in and out of stock, so hurry over here to snatch one before it's gone. If you miss out, I recommend checking back often since it may come back around. This was one of my fave pre-Christmas purchases and it's such a steal (plus super cozy and warm, which I honestly didn't expect).

Just getting my pinks, blacks and whites ready for V-Day--more outfit ideas coming next week!

THE DRESLYN

THE DRESLYN
I've been on the hunt for a pastel leather biker jacket for the longest time but I've only come across  expensive ones, ones that aren't the right fit or both! Lucky me though because I finally scored this J Brand leather jacket at almost 70% off at the Dreslyn Sample sale 2 months ago. Buttery soft and perfectly oversized and since it was the only one left, so I had to snag it.

If you are looking to score some investment pieces, the Dreslyn is having their next semi-annual warehouse sale on January 29th and 30th in Los Angeles. A ton of their Fall/Winter pieces from amazing brands like Rag and Bone, J Brand, Carven, Equipment and more will be on the rack at up to 80% off. Definitely a sale you won't want to miss.

Unconventional but fun! Drop crotch pants are hard to pull off but this pair by Asilio the Label is perfectly tapered and required no alteration for a perfect fit. The polka dots also exude that playful boyish vibe. I dressed these pants up for a dinner date but I am also looking forward to styling them with a pair of white converse, a white tee and denim jacket for a "borrowed from the boys" look.

Towers - Young Guns

Towers - Young Guns
It's a new year, and now January last week begun. Hello Tuesday and hello everyone out there! I hope you're not as tired as I am, don't even know why I'm so exhausted but I'm already up and out of bed. Even ate breakfast woohoo... And before I get ready for uni today I thought it's about time I show you my next look. It's really just a mix of soft girly elements and hard rocky ones with a slash of color, in this case the scarf. I really had to hurry up taking these pictures because it was windy as f*** and I couldnt feel my face anymore after a matter of minutes. You're probably curious as to why I chose to where such a light dress on a cold winter day. Well, it's not that hard: First of all, I like it and second of all I'm wearing three (!) pairs of tights with it so I'm not cold around my legs. It's like a kind of "onion/cabbage strategy" :D. The dress itself is nothing new I already had styled it on Hawaii this past Summer here. Miss it so much!
So and finally I also took some good pictures in my new shoes from Zara that I managed to grab in the big Winter sales. It's actually the only item I bought in sales this year... Not bad!  I think they are copies of Yves Saint Laurent boots but to be honest I don't have thousands for just ONE pair of shoes, that's too much.

At this point I wish everyone a splendid Tuesday and a great week! Later xx

What if I'm the one who needs to be saved?

What if I'm the one who needs to be saved?
I'm so tired tonight, just came home from being at uni the whole day, really exhausting! Am now working on my second project for this year which requires quite some time and energy. So I do have  a headache which is why I hope that you are doing a bit better than me.
According to Instagram I was going to post this look yesterday but Lookbook is not functioning the way it should right now; at least not for me. It's appearance is really strange as you can see in the pictures above... I wasn't able to resolve the problem up to now. Despite that I decided to post today but you'll have to cope without the Lookbook Hype icon haha...
My brain is like a empty canvas, no energy, no nothing, which is why I'm going to keep this short.
In the beginning of 2015 I stated that I'd be wearing some merch of the german hardcore band Burning Down Alaska which I am indeed this time! The boys really manage to design stylish wear without having that "oh look another band-shirt" effect to it. Love it!
On the day of the shoot it wasn't windy at all haha...

I hope you all have a lovely evening! I have to figure out now if I'll attend dancing tonight or not. Headache headache go away. Later xx

The Granny Sweater

The Granny Sweater
 Good morning, darlings!
Winter is still here, so I had to make the most out of the sale season and restock
my wardrobe with some winter essentials. This oversized cardigan is one of them.
My boyfriend calls is a granny sweater, but I find it usefull for layering and
mixing light and thick pieces, like I am, today.
Looking at these pictures brings two thoughts to my mind: first of all, navy is such a
great neutral color, it’s a shame that I used to avoid it so much until now.
Secondly, and most importantly, I really need to get a haircut, asap!
Have a wonderful week, darlings!

Strappy Chiffon & Moschino

Strappy Chiffon & Moschino
Ever since I had my Phillip Lim Pashli stolen out of hotel room in NYC (yes it sucked), I’ve been looking for that comfy every day purse that’s the perfect size and fits all my necessities. After weeks of deliberation and research I came across this textured leather Moschino cross-body. I’m in love with the simplicity of the design, it adds sophistication and edge to any look. The look is pretty simple: distressed boyfriend jeans with a relaxed stripy chiffon top and nude ankle-strap heels.

Living Downtown

Living Downtown
Hey guys,

Today I wanted to give you a little glimpse into my life. As some of you know, a few months back I made the decission to move downtown Los Angeles and in all honesty it has been quite the experience. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know my obession with big cities and old architecture so moving here was a no brainer. To most people in LA downtown is like the plague they want to avoid at all costs, but to me it’s still an undiscovered gem that’s going to be huge in a few years. Since I moved here I see new restaurants and unique street style shops opening up every week. Best part about living here, is having a ton of my friends live in the same building as me. Sophia came over one day and she loved it so much that she moved into my complex a week later. It’s just such an amazing feeling waking up and taking the elevator to your best friend’s place wearing pajamas. On our free time we love exploring downtown and finding new restaurants or just taking photos of the architecture. If you’re in LA or you come visit you HAVE to check out the Ace Hotel, Standard and Perch- 3 of my favorite spots with stunning rooftop views.
This outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone as you won’t see me rocking a maxi dress very often. I love pairing it with some thick heel booties, a spanish hat which I thrifted and of course a strappy crop top to avoid any weird bra straps. Comment below where you are reading from and what do you love about the city/neighborhood you live in?

Total Blue :: Soft trench & Sapphire boots

Total Blue :: Soft trench & Sapphire boots
Happy Tuesday everyone!
A total blue look today with a slinky trench coat, chambray mini peplum top, light blue jeans, and sapphire boots.  Lately, I’ve wearing this trench with everything.  Last time it was with a striped top and boyfriend jeans, the other time it was with flare shorts and a ruffled top, and this time it’s blue on blue.  Warm weather areas can definitely appreciate this transeasonal piece.  For those in the mid-west and east coast, please be safe!  Sending you warm wishes and virtual hot chocolate!
Thank you so so much for the get-well wishes!  Sammie is home now and he’s doing well!  He’s on meds and I’m keeping a very close eye on him.  I only leave my loft for blog shoots, but other than that, I’m home watching him.  On Sunday night when he came home, we snuggled and cuddled for hours.  He’s such a sweet cat!  A section of his front right leg was shaved at the hospital for IV treatments, and every time I see that area I’m reminded of how incredibly special he is.  I treasure every minute with this little guy.  If you have a cat or dog, I highly suggest researching and finding out which household substances, plants, and foods are toxic to them.  I’m breathing a little easier now since Sammie is home, but I won’t rest easy till we get results from his third blood test back.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Still Winter

Still Winter
 Hi, darlings!
I am officially sick and tired of this snow.
Although the weather has been quite tolerable for this time of year, the piles of snow...
well, mud and ice, to be more exact...are still there. It has become an adventure
to walk around the city without covering yourself in mud. That’s why I thought this
pair of boots I’ve found last week on sale, was the perfect addition to my closet.
Definitely more comfortable than the heels I usually wear, which makes it easier for
me to drive and run around the city without having to change my shoes. The skirt
I’m wearing today was another piece I managed to get on sale for less than 10€.
How’bout that?! You can easily see that this has become my „go to outfit”, lately.
A chunky sweater and a skirt. This way I stay warm without looking like a walking
pile of clothes. Yesterday, though, I made the huge mistake of leaving the house
with my bare legs. After listening to the weather forecast which said that the
temperature will be higher than the one we should be having for this time of year,
this seemed like a good idea. Well, it wasn’t! I froze to death during the pics,
good thing that I have an entire collection of hosiery in my car.
I am so eagerly waiting for Spring!
Have a great afternoon, guys!
Kisses
