Yes, I know. Recent trends in fashion can be overwhelming, and sometimes funny. But useful aspects of modern fashion trends showcased on the catwalk and in fashion magazines - it's just visual stimulation that forges ideas and inspiration. If you want a solid 101 on how to prune and wearing current fashion trend, I recommend you to check out my other guidelines (navigation pane on the right) on how to make any trend work for you.

Dressed Up Casual

Dressed Up Casual
This is one of those outfits I like to call "dressed up casual" because it's dressy but still so comfortable… one of the reasons being this oversize striped tunic. I am obsessed with this thing! I love the oversized look and think it would be SO CUTE with a colorful chunky scarf and booties. (Warning - this will not be the last time you see this sweater on my blog!) Anyways, for this look I paired the sweater with fuchsia accents for a girly, glam look that is perfect for date night or dinner with your girlfriends.

On another note, a huge cold front has hit Charlotte! It got down to 10 DEGREES last night and the high today is 30. This kind of weather is only okay with me if it snows… haha! (I don't think we are going to get any snow though.) I am planning on bundling up in my absolute warmest clothes, sipping on coffee or hot chocolate all day today, and staying inside as much as possible!

Date Night

Date Night
I love love love the combination of dresses and over-the-knee boots. I think it's so cute, and can still look really cozy and warm with an oversized scarf! I kept this look pretty neutral with pale pink and my favorite scarf… I think the muted tones make it perfect for a date night.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Weekend!

Bohemian Gypsy Style

Bohemian Gypsy Style
Hi:) I hope you're having a great weekend! Today's tutorial is not really an average every day style, and it's definitely different than most other tutorials I do on the blog, but I've gotten a fair amount of requests for gypsy style/faux dreadlocks type of styles, and I figured that this would go perfectly in the line-up for my Festival Hair week! I used to do various versions of this to my hair a lot in high-school, so it's fun to finally get it out on here:What do you think? This tutorial may seem complicated but I promise it's much easier than it looks, and it's lots of fun to do! I may have to do a video for my channel soon so you can see more easily how simple. It's really just random placement of some faux dreadlocks and some braids, feathers, etc, and you don't have to worry about it looking messy or unkempt because that's a big part of the whole idea anyways!:)
Also if you have a festival or fair you're going to or something of that nature, it's really fun to do once in while. Also because you're using coconut milk enriched serum to coat the dreads you're really nourishing your hair while you wear this style, so that's pretty neat too! haha I'll shut up now though and get on with the tutorial..

How To Make Your Eyebrows Thicker With Makeup?

How To Make Your Eyebrows Thicker With Makeup?
Your eyes are undeniably your best beauty asset. You do not have to wear a dramatic eye makeup every time; just define your brows, add kohl and mascara and see the difference in your look. Whether you are blessed with shapely brows or not, grooming them a little does enhance your complete look. For those, who think a little thickness added to your brows is just what is required, then this post is for you. So, here is a step by step illustration on how to get your eyebrows thicker with the help of makeup.
Comb your brows to make the hair fall in place and to know what shape you need to follow. I have used Vega’s eye brow comb here.
Now, you can go for any of the three methods for filling up your eye brows – pencil, powder or wax. I find that using a pencil makes the job a lot easier. Some particular brands make wonderful eye brow pencils that stay put whole day without the need of a primer or fixer. You can also use combination of pencil and powder to get the perfect filling and color. I am using Rimmel London’s professional eye brow pencil in the shade black brown.

How To Get The False Eyelash Look without false lashes! #long_lashes

How To Get The False Eyelash Look without false lashes! #long_lashes
False lashes can be a pain, not to mention time consuming! Here are a few ways to get the look without the hassle:

Step 1: After curling your lashes, apply a thin layer of powder before applying your mascara. I just sweep a small blending brush across my compact and apply it to the top and bottom of my eyelashes. I’ve also heard that some people use baby powder, although I think they both have virtually the same effect; creating a base that makes them appear much fuller.

Step 1: Apply two coats of mascara to the bottom and TOP side of your lashes, but wait 3-5 minutes in between each coat, otherwise they tend to get clumpy (not cute).

Step 1: When applying your mascara, you don’t want to just move your mascara wand from the base of your lashes up. Make sure you are moving the mascara wand back and forth while going up. The left and right motion will make sure every lash is covered entirely, all the way to the tip.

Step 1: Almost done! Now, check your lashes for any gaps. Use the tip of your wand to apply another coat of mascara to individual lashes where they look sparse. Even better, use a fine tipped liquid eyeliner to fine tune and fill in any gaps.
