By the time January rolls around I am ready to pack up all of my darks and trade them in for spring colors. But instead of waiting until the sun shows up, you can easily lighten up your look with winter white. White is year-round. From head to nail to toe, you don’t have to worry about dates or seasons when rocking the color. When Target invited me to share how I style winter white, I decided to share a few keys I’ve found to pulling off the trend:
1) Seasons decide texture, not color. There’s a difference between white linen and white wool – only one will work for winter. Stick with heavier, winter textiles like fluffy sweaters, fur, wool (in love with this shawl!) , textured tops etc. White outerwear especially is one of the easiest ways to dip your toe into this color trend.
2) Monochrome mix & match. Any monochromatic look is sure to be a winner, but head-to-toe white seems to take the cake, especially in a crowd of greys and blacks. The list of shades of white goes on forever, so picking a few complementary hues will be inevitable. If a white-out isn’t your thing, throw in a classic colored handbag or coat to keep that effortless but intentional effect.
3) Bring white to your beauty routine. Try a white liner or a subtle white shadow around the corner of your eye. If you are more of a minimal no make up girl, go for a winter white mani. White nails are one of my favorites!
